Basic Functions

  • Operate Tractor-Trailer with Flat Bed

  • Load and offload material Using Moffat piggyback system.

  • Work closely with the operations manager to ensure operational efficiency and safety

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide daily transport service while safely operating company equipment.

  • Communicates professionally and effectively with supervisors, managers, and team members

  • Follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies. Immediately report any and all safety hazards.

  • Unload products from the trailer, and transport items into designated customer work areas. According to company policy, perform damage control checks on items, and contact the supervisor about removing orders.

  • Verify delivery of items with customer and obtain proper signatures. Collect money (cash or checks) where required. Load customer returns onto the trailer and secures trailer doors.

  • Perform general housekeeping duties in tractor, and loading dock area and keep trailers clear and clean as required.

  • Inspect trailer for properly loaded and secured freight. Perform count check of items and check customer invoices of products that have been loaded. Check and complete in an accurate and legible fashion all required paperwork associated with freight.

  • Perform all required safety checks (i.e. pre/post trip) including inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations; inspect tractor/truck and trailer to insure they meet company safety standards and take appropriate action as needed. Report all safety issues and/or repairs required.

  • High School Diploma

  • Minimum 2 years related experience as a Class A Commercial Driver

  • License with a clean driving record

  • Ability to pass a random drug screen Current Medical Card Demonstrate a high level of interpersonal skills necessary to handle daily challenges that may arise

  • Must be able to read and speak

  • English Must be able to lift 50 pounds or less on a regular basis
